Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV)
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’
Father God, you are holy. All honor and glory to you in this day. May your presence be evident in my life, as you are here and the day of your coming grows ever nearer. May I follow in your steps with each one that I take, serving others as you have called me to do, even when it is not the most secure thing to be doing. Let me be content today with what I have, and not desire that which I do not need. Give me the grace for others who may not have treated me well, as you have forgiven all my mistakes. Lead me not into the temptation to wander from focusing on you, but deliver me from the selfishness that shows up far too often in my life.
